Second grade students are beginning their unit of study about insects. They will be identifying the basic needs of animals, observing, recording, and comparing how the physical characteristics and behaviors of animals help them meet their basic needs. The students will have the opportunity to do insect research to investigate and record some of the unique stages that insects undergo during their life cycle.
